On-the-Job Training

On-the-Job Training, commonly called OJT, reduces the risk of hiring unsuitable workers for employers. Eligible businesses and organizations try out eligible work-ready candidates at half the cost. OJT is a win-win hiring solution for job seekers and employers. As a placement solution for new employees, OJT means big savings in time and money for growing your workforce. Job Center staff facilitate the connection by taking care of the paperwork, and tailoring a training plan for the tasks, skills, and requirements of each job.

Work Experience

Work Experience enables employers to invest in their workforce while enabling youth to gain work maturity, occupational skills, and exposure to the working world. Employers are able to try out youth with wages and workers compensation being provided through federal funding. The Work Experience Program allows employers to not only invest in their own workforce, but to invest in the ongoing development and opportunities of youth in their area.

Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC)

WOTC is a federal income tax benefit administered by the U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) for employers who hire individuals from specified target populations, including veterans. WOTC reduces a business’s federal tax liability, serving as an incentive to select job candidates who may be disadvantaged in their efforts to find employment.

Credits range from $750 to $9,600 for different target groups!

Federal Bonding

The Federal Bonding service helps at-risk job applicants get and keep a job. The Federal Bonding program offers free bonding services to reduce employers’ concerns about hiring at-risk job applicants who cannot be bonded through other sources. For this bonding, protection is offered for a six-month period for free, protecting the employer against employee acts of dishonesty such as larceny, embezzlement, and theft.
