There are a lot of opportunities out there and we want to help you find the right one! The Central Workforce Development Region offers free comprehensive employment services through our Job Centers, helping you prepare for, locate, and obtain jobs and careers that suit your strengths and goals.

Job Search Assistance

Because Job Center staff are constantly thinking about jobs, they are uniquely qualified to assist you with your job search. Staff know the employers in the areas they serve. They care about successfully matching workers and employers because they live there. They are also connected to state-wide employment opportunities. Take advantage of all of the job search resources available to you in a Missouri Job Center.

JOBS.MO.GOV

The start of your search for employment opportunities begins with registering on jobs.mo.gov, Missouri’s job-matching website. Employers post new jobs daily. Staff are available to assist with completing the registration that opens up availability to many other services at the Job Center.

RESOURCE COMPUTERS

Increasingly, employers hire using online computer applications and systems. But what if you don’t have a computer with internet, or you don’t feel confident going online?

Computers are available in the Job Center for job search and applying for jobs on online job sites. Staff can assist completing online job applications and even attaching resumes, cover letters, references and other documents desired by employers.

Resume Assistance

A good resume can persuade an employer to invite you to come in for a job interview. In fact, that’s the main reason for a resume.

BUILD YOUR OWN RESUME

Build Your Own Resume using online job matching service, jobs.mo.gov. After registration, jobs.mo.gov leads you step-by-step through adding your background information to build your resume. Job Center staff can make suggestions or answer questions as you type in your information. Bring in a list of your work history, skills, education or other work-related information.

ONLINE RESUME WORKSHOPS

You may prefer to take more control over your resume by watching our resume workshop videos using a Job Center computer or with your computer, tablet or phone. Videos include what information to provide, how to state it, as well as proper formatting.

Interview Assistance

INTERVIEW WORKSHOPS

The interview workshops provide practical advice on acing your next job interview. Get helpful tips explaining how to present yourself and be ready to answer all types of interview questions. The interview is your best chance to convince an employer that you are a good match for their job

MOCK INTERVIEWS

Practice your interviewing skills in an environment similar to an actual interview. Mock interviews are available at a local Job Center, by phone, and also using video conferencing.  During the mock interview, staff will ask interview questions that are appropriate for the kind of work you are looking for, and then give you feedback and advice on how you can improve. Schedule a mock interview by calling a Job Center today.

Veterans and their families receive priority access to our employment, training, and placement services.

Career Transition Assistance

Personalized support for veterans transitioning from military to civilian careers, including job search and placement.

Show Me Heroes OJT

Offering 50% wage reimbursement for up to 6 months to eligible service members and their spouses.

Career Skills Program

We offer transitioning service members regional internship opportunities for 4-5 months with civilian organizations, upon chain of command approval.
