We are under the direction of trusted community leaders.

The Central Workforce Development Board is led by a board of directors composed of community leaders from local businesses, educational institutions, labor groups, economic development corporations, community-based organizations, and government entities. Under their direction, the Central Workforce Development Board implements the Workforce Investment Act principles so that local residents gain access to career opportunities and employers can build the workforce they need for success.

The Central Workforce Development Board

The Central Workforce Development Board is comprised of volunteer representatives for the 19-county region and is the regional source for workforce development information and initiatives, including:

  • Setting workforce development policy for the region
  • Oversight of the administration of employment and training programs
  • Approval of the region’s local workforce development plan for service delivery
  • Coordinating activities with business and economic development organizations

Central Workforce Development board members are appointed by local officials and work in tandem with the State of Missouri to develop policies and guidelines, and to provide oversight of the local workforce investment system. Board membership includes individuals representing business and industry, economic development agencies, community-based organizations, education, organized labor, public assistance agencies and more.

What We Value

CUSTOMER SERVICE

We concentrate our efforts on exceeding customer expectations. Recognizing that such a focus is essential to our success, we listen to our customers and work diligently to develop realistic customer-driven solutions. Our systems foster an environment supporting continuous improvement. We are innovators – inspiring rather than limiting those we serve.

We are accountable to the system’s owners — the taxpayers and our communities. As stewards of the public trust, we take responsibility for accomplishing our organization’s mission, vision, and goals.

QUALITY

In everything we do, we strive for excellence. We provide high-quality, customer-driven workforce services that assist businesses and job seekers in their efforts to be competitive in a global economy. We empower staff to act appropriately and consistently, exceeding customer expectations. TEAMWORK

We promote communication, networking and collaboration as the chosen method for problem solving. Working together in cohesive units, we work hand-in-hand to create solutions and implement customer-driven strategies. Common goals and desires are elevated above that of individual team members.

INTEGRITY

We choose to operate openly, honestly, and ethically. While representing Central Missouri Workforce, we do not compromise the principles of the organization. We do what is right in all circumstances, take pride in what we do, and set an example for others. We earn the trust of those we serve. We are trustworthy.
