About the Phelps County Focus
The newspaper started in August of 2017, with a keen interest in the community. Publisher Donald Dodd, president of Salem Publishing Company, Inc., has been in the newspaper business since 1980 and has long admired the drive and success of Phelps County and the cities of Rolla, St. James, Edgar Springs, Doolittle and Newburg. Their family-owned newspaper offers a wide variety of news, features, commentary and sports. Their tagline says it all: It’s all about you.
