The Mobile Integrated Healthcare Network (MIHN) recently announced the award of the Workforce Opportunities in Regional Careers (WORC) Scholarship to Great Mines Health in Washington County.
The Central Region offers services to Washington Country through the Potosi affiliate location, located inside the Washington County Industrial Development Authority, and the Rolla Job Center.
The purpose of the WORC Scholarship Program is to create and improve career mobility in the healthcare industry. Career paths currently supported include Emergency Medical Technician (EMT), Community Health Worker (CHW), and LPN, RN, and Paramedic.

Both courses are one semester long and serve as an entry point for careers in Nursing, Business, and/or Paramedicine.
Continuing Education Scholarship for LPN, RN, and Paramedic to include up to $10,000.00.
Those eligible to apply are:
- High school seniors or individuals meeting HiSet requirements and individuals seeking community re-entry following incarceration;
- Dislocated workers – individuals terminated, laid-off or were self-employed but are now unemployed; and
- Incumbent workers – individuals employed but need the training to secure full-time employment, advance, or retain current occupations.
You must be a resident of the following counties to qualify for the WORC Scholarship: Iron, Madison, Perry, Reynolds, St. Francois, and Washington.
