On September 9, 2025, the Central Region team joined the 2nd annual Mizzou Basic Needs Resource Fair at the MU Student Center. More than 140 students attended, making it a valuable opportunity to connect with young people and share the many services available through Missouri Job Centers.
Representing the Central Region were Business Support Specialist Roger Brisley and Columbia Job Center Supervisor Nichelle Pool, who spent the day meeting with students and answering questions about career resources. They highlighted services such as résumé support, interview preparation, career exploration, and training opportunities—all designed to help students succeed.
Many students shared that they didn’t realize Missouri Job Centers exist across the state, making this event an excellent chance to spread awareness and provide resources that can make a difference in their career journeys. The Basic Needs Resource Fair was not only about meeting immediate needs but also about helping students prepare for the future with tools that will carry them forward.
It was a day of connection, encouragement, and practical support, and we’re grateful for the opportunity to partner with Mizzou in helping students take their next steps. To see the full photo album from the event, visit our Facebook page.
