The Central Workforce Development Board (CWDB) held its annual in-person meeting on Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at Old Kinderhook Resort in Camdenton, bringing together workforce leaders, partners, and community stakeholders from across the region.
The meeting served as an opportunity to reflect on the year’s progress, share regional insights, and look ahead to new strategies for building a stronger workforce pipeline.
Attendees heard from two guest speakers whose work continues to shape workforce development across the state:
- Joel Doepker, Vice President of External Relations for East Central College, presented updates on ECC’s new Rolla campus, emphasizing its role in expanding educational access and workforce training opportunities in the region.
- Kelly Asbury of the Missouri Small Business Development Centers (SBDC) at State Fair Community College shared how SBDC programs are equipping entrepreneurs and small business owners with tools for success—contributing to job creation and local economic growth.

The CWDB also celebrated the ongoing success of the EDA Good Jobs Challenge Grant, highlighting how the initiative has provided hundreds of individuals across the Central Region with training, certifications, and pathways to sustainable careers.
Board members and partners engaged in meaningful discussions about strengthening collaboration between education, workforce, and industry; addressing regional skills gaps; and continuing to innovate in outreach and training delivery.
The CWDB extends sincere appreciation to all members, workforce staff, and partners who make these efforts possible. Through shared vision and collaboration, the Central Region continues to lead the way in advancing Missouri’s workforce.
