Columbia Job Center Staff recently visited Jamestown High School to share more information on Central Region youth services. They met with sophomores, juniors, and seniors to discuss career pathways, training options, and the support available to young people as they prepare for life after graduation.
Students were especially excited to try out the virtual reality career exploration goggles, which allowed them to experience hands-on activities in fields such as manufacturing, skilled trades, and public safety. These tools help students visualize real career possibilities and understand the skills needed to succeed.
The visit reflects the Central Region’s ongoing work to reach students early, build awareness of in-demand careers, and connect schools with meaningful workforce resources.
