When asked about her motivation for joining the Central Workforce Development Board (CWDB), Elizabeth recalls her time as a VR counselor, where interactions with the Job Center staff sparked her interest. “I loved getting to hang out and work with them,” she said. “One day, while working there, I was asked by the former board director if I was interested in being on the board. That was an easy yes for me!”

Elizabeth’s presence on the CWDB brings a unique blend of skills and perspectives to the table. Her ability to forge connections and leverage resources resonates deeply with the board’s mission of strengthening communities through workforce development. “It’s important to meet individuals where they are and tailor services to meet evolving needs,” said Perkins.

Looking ahead, Elizabeth envisions a future where the Central Region continues to thrive through relevant and responsive services. “I think each board member plays a critical role in the perspective and representation we each bring by supporting the board with the current work being done and helping assess future needs.”

Outside of her professional endeavors, Elizabeth’s interests reflect her vibrant personality. A country music fan, she finds solace and joy in the timeless tunes of the ’90s and beyond, including being a devoted fan of icons like Dolly Parton.

In Elizabeth Perkins, the CWDB has a dedicated advocate and visionary leader committed to fostering collaboration, empowering individuals, and shaping the future of workforce development in the Central Region. Thank you, Elizabeth, for your passion and your partnership!
