The Central Workforce Development Board (CWDB) is fortunate to have dedicated professionals serving on its board, and this month, we shine the spotlight on Jessica Crum, an integral member whose passion for workforce development and community engagement is making a lasting impact.
Jessica Crum is the HR Director at The Maries County Bank, where she works out of the Vienna office but enjoys traveling to all branch locations. In her role, Jessica ensures that employees’ HR needs—including compensation, benefits, training, hiring, recruitment, employee development, and engagement—are met.
“I have the pleasure of working with some of the most gifted bankers in the state of Missouri,” Jessica shares. “We are a community bank, so my job also allows me to give back and aid programs within the community by helping with mock interviews, career fairs, and lending a hand to non-profit organizations in our area when they need it.”
Jessica has been a CWDB board member for two years, bringing a strong voice for smaller communities and hometown-minded employers within Missouri. She is continually inspired by the experience and expertise of her fellow board members and is honored to be a part of an organization that fosters workforce growth.
“I truly love watching individuals grow and become successful within their careers. I believe everyone has talents that can aid an organization—it’s just a matter of matching the employee with the correct employer and finding the best seat within the organization to allow their talents to shine.”
Jessica sees CWDB as a bridge between job seekers and businesses, ensuring candidates are equipped with the knowledge, skills, and abilities necessary to thrive in today’s workforce. She hopes to help the board continue developing programs that provide job seekers with essential training and career pathways, helping businesses fill their open roles with qualified, skilled workers.

Beyond her professional role, Jessica wears many hats in her personal life. She and her husband, Jason, have been married for nearly 20 years and have three children—Eli (16), Drew (13), and Trinity (10).
“My three-ring circus keeps me involved in several local organizations supporting their sports, 4-H/FFA, dance, and cheer hobbies,” she jokes.
In addition to her HR career, Jessica and her husband own two small 24/7 workout facilities and rental properties. They are active members of their local Chamber of Commerce, supporting community initiatives and economic growth.
When she’s not working, running businesses, or attending her kids’ events, Jessica can often be found volunteering in her community. She recently rediscovered a skill from her first job—popping popcorn—while working in concession stands at local sporting events.
“You just never know when job skills will aid you later in life!” she laughs.
Jessica is deeply committed to ensuring Missouri job seekers have access to quality career opportunities and that local businesses can connect with the right talent. She sees CWDB as a powerful resource for building a stronger, more prepared workforce across the state.
We are grateful for Jessica’s leadership, expertise, and dedication to workforce development and community involvement. Her work continues to make a difference in the lives of many Missourians, and we look forward to seeing her impact grow in the years to come!
