Central Missouri Job Centers will begin reopening for in-person services in July as part of the Missouri Department of Higher Education & Workforce Development Return Strong initiative.

Social distancing and other health guidelines will be implemented for the safety of both staff and visitors, and appointments are highly encouraged until further notice.

As we reopen our Job Centers, there are some changes we’ve made in order to accommodate our customers and our staff:

  • Staff will be present to assist you with check-in
  • You’ll find floor markers to help customers adhere to the 6ft. social distancing guidelines
  • Please understand that there are occupancy limits and you may be asked to wait outside or in your car until staff call you in
  • Hand sanitizer will be easily accessible throughout the Job Centers
  • Masks are required for both staff and customers while in the building
  • Each computer workstation will be sanitized after each use
  • Glass has been installed to protect both customers and staff from exposure

Central Region Job Centers opening in July include Columbia and Rolla. The Lebanon Job Center is still undergoing remodeling after severe wind damage. The Jefferson City Job Center is still under construction after it was destroyed by a tornado in 2019. Plans for the opening of satellite locations are still underway.

Those still seeking assistance may call 888.728.5627 or visit jobs.mo.gov, as virtual services are still being offered, including training opportunities, career services, employer assistance, resume writing, and more. You can find a list of our current online workshops here.

Individuals currently receiving unemployment benefits may be eligible to receive free training vouchers of up to $4,000 to skill up or retrain.
