Free community resources came together at the Lebanon YMCA this summer, and the Central Workforce Development Region was on hand to connect attendees with job seeker services.
The July 29 event was hosted by Elevate Lebanon, which first launched its outreach efforts as part of the mandated housing count conducted nationwide each January. After early success, the program grew into a community-wide effort held across multiple seasons.
Central Region team members Matthew Sutton and Paula Pogue attended, sharing information about the free workforce development services available to job seekers across mid-Missouri.
More than 15 organizations offered services throughout the day, including the Central Workforce Development Region, weatherization and utility assistance, children’s services, medical and dental care, free haircuts, warm weather items, mental health support, and a free lunch. Several agencies were on-site to help attendees with Medicaid applications and food assistance, including guidance for those who had already applied but needed help understanding next steps.
