35 applications received during recruitment were referred for pre-employment screening, which included drug testing and medical exams required for a CDL.
Participants selected for the CDL Apprenticeship received intensive classroom instruction provided by an ESS Certified Instructor to obtain a Class “A” Driving Permit and pass the required pre-trip inspection exam.
The CWDB Work Experience Program paid participants $22/hr during training, for a maximum of 300 hours during phase one of the Apprenticeship, then transitioning them to $25/hr upon full-time placement with on-the-job training (OJT) employment with ESS.
We wish them all the best!
