This summer, the Columbia Job Center partnered with the Flourish Program to help under-resourced youth in Boone County gain valuable paid work experience.
Flourish supports local youth by addressing critical needs—from housing and hygiene to educational expenses and transportation. Through this collaboration, youth participants were placed in paid work experiences at well-known organizations like MU Health and Habitat for Humanity, earning $15/hour for up to 320 hours during the summer months.
Our Central Region team helped connect participants with opportunities, provided career support, and helped ensure a smooth experience for both youth and employers.
