Ms. Ellis is a recent State Fair Community College at Eldon Career Center Nursing, ASN program graduate.
She passed her NCLEX-RN and was issued an RN license in January 2022. She is now employed as a Registered Nurse with Lake Regional Health Systems Clinic, working 40 hours/week earning $28.00/hour.
I really appreciate this program. It was so helpful during a time where I really needed the help! I’m a mother of three, so I didn’t have the opportunity to work as much to help pay with my bills and nursing school expenses. Having the extra support that this program provided helped my stress levels tremendously. I was able to focus more on my education and family. While enrolled in the program, Jamee worked part-time as a Medical Assistant, earning $13.50/hour. With her recently awarded credentials, Ellis has more than doubled her previous wages.
Jamee was able to participate in this program thanks to WIOA Adult, SkillUP, and HPOG, through the Lake Area Job Center.
