Central Ozarks Private Industry Council (COPIC) Case Manager, Phil Stroupe, recently provided justice involved individuals at Algoa Correctional Center information and “self-help” tools for future career development prior to their release.
The information included tools for self-assessment of occupational interest, key points for resume creation and partner access to obtain resources needed upon release.
Five individuals completed the self-improvement activities built into the information sessions, focusing on a variety of topics, including WorkKeys testing, Talify assessments, ONET interest profiles, budgeting tips, resume building, mock interviews, and more.

Prior to release, the JII will be offered the opportunity for real interviews with employers, with the goal of being employed prior to release.
The Central Region plans to continue offering work readiness programs to justice involved individuals and discussions are underway to host classes in multiple facilities in the Central Region.
