Missouri Ozarks Community Action Agency (MOCA), a 501 ©3 not for profit agency, is seeking nominations for individuals who live in and will represent Phelps County low-income clients on the MOCA Board of Directors.
MOCA provides a variety of services to low-income individuals and families in an eight county area. Services include the Head Start preschool program for children 3-5 years old; Section 8 housing Assistance; homeowner and renter Weatherization; Life Skills classes; emergency services; and other services to meet the needs of low-income households.
Any low-income person may nominate a candidate for the position. Nominations may be made in person on the day of the nomination meeting or may be written in letter form and mailed to: Nominations, MOCA Board, P.O. Box 69, Richland, MO 65556. Must be postmarked by April 30, 2021.
Nominations must include name, address and phone number of person being nominated and the name, address and phone number of the person nominating them.
This is a non-salaried position. Board meets the fourth Thursday of each month. Board members are reimbursed 45 cents per mile traveled to and from board meetings.
If you know someone whom you think would represent the low-income community’s best interest on the MOCA Board, please nominate them. A slate of names will be given to MOCA’s Nominating Committee for review of the best candidate.
All persons who meet federal poverty guidelines are eligible and encouraged to participate in these nominations. It is essential that someone who represents your views and interest have a say in the planning and operation of community programs.
