The Rolla Regional Spring Hiring Event brought employers and job seekers together on May 6 at the National Guard Armory in Rolla, creating opportunities for connection, conversation, and career growth across the region.

Hosted by the Rolla Job Center, the event welcomed over 80 job seekers and more than 40 employers representing a wide range of industries, including healthcare, manufacturing, public service, education, banking, transportation, and skilled trades.

Employers in attendance included Brewer Science, Phelps Health, Central Bank, Hartmann Pack and Perform, Quaker Windows, Royal Oak, Missouri S&T, MoDOT, Compass Health, Walmart – Rolla, Rolla Public Schools, Missouri Department of Corrections, Phelps County Sheriff’s Department, and many more.

Throughout the event, job seekers had the opportunity to meet directly with hiring managers, ask questions about available positions, learn more about local career pathways, and participate in on-site interviews. Employers connected with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and experience levels, from those entering the workforce for the first time to experienced professionals seeking new opportunities.

The event reflected the continued demand for workers across the region and highlighted the importance of building strong connections between employers and the local workforce.

“Events like this are important because they create face-to-face opportunities for employers and job seekers to connect,” said Sundi Jo Graham, Communications Coordinator for the Central Workforce Development Region. “Whether someone was looking for their first job, a career change, or additional information about training and opportunities, this event gave people a chance to take that next step.”

In addition to networking and hiring opportunities, attendees were also able to enjoy lunch from Food for Your Soul Food Truck during the event.

The Rolla Regional Spring Hiring Event is one of several workforce events hosted throughout the year to support employers, job seekers, and communities across the Central Region. Services available through the Rolla Job Center include resume assistance, job search support, career services, hiring assistance for employers, workshops, training resources, and more.
