Big news for Jefferson City, and for the Central Region.
After years without a permanent home, the Jefferson City Job Center is opening its doors at a new location on Monday, October 5. Beginning that day, job seekers and employers can find the Job Center at 327 E. Capitol Avenue, Adams Street Entrance, open Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
This is a moment worth celebrating. Jefferson City has been without a permanent Job Center since the 2019 tornado destroyed the original location near Christy Drive. A temporary location in the Sears wing of the mall followed, then the pandemic hit, and the community has been navigating without a stable, dedicated workforce resource ever since- a journey we documented when the Central Workforce Development Board signed the lease earlier this year.
That changes October 5.
